There is something I love about the word, "truthful." Maybe because of how it appears in "The Veleteen Rabbit," the grownups' favorite children's book. The rabbit and the skin horse are discussing what it is like to be real:

"Does it hurt?" asked the Rabbit.
"Sometimes," said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful.
