This well-written piece made me think of my ex-wife. She ran away with my best friend. Too bad I didn’t own a pick-up truck or I could have written a country song. She took our small child with her which made it very hard. I rather lost it and did crazy shit. But fortunately nothing too crazy. After I got my life back on track I met the woman who would become my second wife. She made it clear from the outset that she was serious and wanted marriage and a child. Fortunately I had put my life together to the extent that I was up for that. I say fortunately because 29 years later we are still happy and our daughter is on her own as I full adult who makes me so proud I can’t even tell you. Often I reflect that if my ex hadn’t made a country song out of my life we never would have met.
