Unfortunately I could not pretend to such innocence when it came to my first ever all-mine apartment in Bensonhurst, or maybe Flatbush, I don’t know, the F train kept me awake at night. This was in the 70s — I have no idea where the F train goes now.* Anyway — where was I? — oh yeah, I painted the map of Middle Earth on one of the walls using a 1/4" to 1’ scale from my paperback. Did a nice job IIDSSM but the landlord was not a fan.

* During the 70s normal people could actually afford to live there.
