Whadever. I'm going to keep watching. Because it's well, THEM, as in, those characters, who were such an important backdrop to my young life. I read The Silmarillion, or however you spell it, many years ago, but I can't vouch for the show's fidelity to the book because the book was forgettable.
You made me think of my violinist friend who trashes Handel's Messiah because she doesn't think it's as good as Bach's B Minor Mass. Not that any of this TV is in anything like that league, but the idea is similar.
Like they always say, enjoy the show.
