Yes retirement is awesome. I don’t know how I ever had time to have a job. I need to do some re-balancing because I can’t seem to get to Aikido enough.
As far as “old” goes, I embrace it. Some people don’t think I’m old because I’m “only” 69, but I tell you my wrinkles have wrinkles, and I say bring it on. I look weather-beaten. Weather-beaten is cool.
The thing I do wish is that I could have one painful thing heal before some other painful thing started. I got the contusion I suffered in my thigh at an Aikido seminar all squared away, that is I thought I did, but now I have hip pain (same side) which is thankfully getting better, albeit way slower than such healing used to take. Fortunately it responds well to movement because I’m in a marching band. I’ve written about that in relationship to pain here
and by itself here
detailing how much fun it is and how wonderful my (almost all younger) bandies are.
Oh yes and about Aikido and me here
That one got curated, even 😊!
