Your Frito on top dinner made me think of something my brother told me about, "prison goulash," which he and his fellow prisoners made from time to time when he was in prison. They would throw together anything they had, such as "a fish," mackerel in plastic packaging that could be had cheeply at the commissary, then crumble Fritos or Doritos or whatever anyone had, over the top.
